WOT Audio Books
« on: July 21, 2010, 04:18:18 PM »
I have started buying the WOT audio books from audio renaissance so I can listen to them on the commute to and from work.  As a whole, I like them a lot.  I get to go through the books when I normally wouldn't be able to.  But I have a question.

The fact that the audio books come on 20+ cd leads one pain.  The CDs don't come with a list of which chapters are on which CDs.  For TEotW and TGH each chapter starts at the beginning of a new track.  But now I am on TDR and the chapters start mid track more often than not.  Navigating the CDs if you are trying to listen to a specific part is almost impossible without listening to many, many tracks across mulitple CD to find the right spot.

So my question is: Does anyone have or know where I can find a listing of which tracks of which CDs go to which chapters for the audio books?

That's a good question, actually.  I don't know the answer...but I bet an e-mail or call to Audio Renaissance will get you some results.  They might actually have something on their website too.

If you get any results from that inquery...please post that information here.  I might like to see it!  :-)

Any chance you know what their website is? www.AudioRenaissance.com doesn't appear to be it even though that is what is printed on the box.  Searching for it doesn't bring it up either.  Is Audio Renaissance still in business?  If not, I better buy up these audio books before they sell out.

Kasm,
Audio Renaissance was bought out by MacMillian Audio.  They still sell Audio Renaissance titles...plus a bunch more.

Try here:

http://us.macmillan.com/Audio.aspx

Also...if you own an MP3 player...you can join the Audible.com site and simply download the books and play them on your MP3 player.  (it might actually be a little bit cheaper to do it this way)

Also...if you have a library close by...you might check their audiobook selection to see if they have the Robert Jordan books available.  My library has all the books on CD's...although, they are popular...so, they usually have a waiting list for them.

But...that's just some ideas to throw at ya.

Hope you find what you need!!!

I used audible to get the entire series. If you subscribe every month they give you tokens that can be used to redeem an audio book. WoT Audio books cost anywhere from 20 to 50 dollars and their standard subscription is $15, if you go with their gold subscription, which I believe is $25, you can get 2 tokens for 2 books. Just using the tokens to get the books saves a lot of money, though you do have to wait every month to receive them.
I could have been a contender.
If there is a 50/50 chance you'll get right there is a 90% chance you get it wrong.
