I think this effectively end his career. It is sad what some people do to sabotage their lives. Vick had everything, and he just threw it all away to host illegal dog fights.

One quote really stood out for me though.

"There were some judgment issues in terms of people he was associating with," Martin said. "He realized this is very serious, and he decided to plead so he can begin the healing process."

Of course he was associating himself with some slimy people, but it seems to me that is whole thing is more about them flipping on him and will be witnesses against him. It is a sad bit of spin.

I believe as part of the plea bargain (from what I hear) he's looking at a 250k fine, jail time, and permanent ban from the NFL (but go figure, because he was BETTING)

Is it just me or is anybody else throughly surprised that absolutely *no one* is coming to his defense!?!

I mean...I can think of some big 'stink-raisers' that really wouldn't surpise me if they turned up standing behind him...ya know?

Of course, he a gigantic dirt bag for doing that...so, maybe they just realized that it's a hopeless battle and just don't want to tarnish their emaculent reputation.

I've read that a good portion pf the black population in Georgia believe Vick is getting set up by the government. So he has his defenders, they're just not on the airwaves. However it is hard to defend a guy whose 3 co-defendants plead guilty and are willing to testify against Vick. They also signed affidavits saying that Vick was involved, he bankrolled the operation, and even took part in the killing of under performing dogs. That speaks volumes, and is hard to defend.
