Topic: Rand is in the Final Suvudu cage match! Vote Baby!

Suvudu.com has been putting on a Fantasy Fiction March Madness type of tournament.  I was paying attention because there is a George RR Martin character in the bracket doing well (Jamie Lannister).  Well, Jamie made it to the final match and guess who he's up against?

Rand Al'Thor!!!

So, sorry Jamie...I've gotta vote for Rand.  He'd totally kick your ass in a fight anyway...it's a no brainer.

Anyway...to be honest this is just a popularity contest...but Jamie Lannister is very popular.  So Rand needs your vote!

Jaime Lannister? The guy is a incestuous idiot. How can anybody give a damn about him? I didn't like him when I was reading Martin, but to be honest I didn't like most of Martin's character's anyways. The few I did like had a bad habit of dying.

I have to agree with you in part.  Jamie Lannister is not a nice or moral character in any sense of the word.  It's been a while since the last book...but, Jamie lost his fighting hand to bandits and since then he's kinda changed (a bit).  I'm not sure where Martin is taking his character...but, he seems to be growing a slight conscience.  For some reason...I don't want to see him die, yet.  However, I think he has too many enemies for him not to die eventually.  The boy he pushed out of a window for instance...the boy is still alive and I think he's going to get some major payback eventually.  :-) 

Anyway, I was really just paying attention cause I like those books quite a bit...and Jamie Lannister was the only character from those books in the tournament. 

You're right, though...as you read those books you don't want to get attached to any of the 'good guys'.  They have a depressing habit of dying.  Not all of them...but enough to piss you off if you're not prepared!

They have a cool little story up of what the battle between these two character might look like.  I don't like the end of it...cause they are prediciting that Jamie Lannister will win.  So, we've gotta get some votes out there!

The GRRM write-up was pretty good.  It almost makes me want to tackle that series... except that he is, apparently, having completion issues.  And I don't know that I want to commit to another big series and face the possibility that it might not be finished... *lol*
