Well I'm back from Jordancon.  I didn't get many pictures but I get pictures with me and harriet, Wilson, and Brandon.  They were real tight with plot related info but I got a lot of structural info about the book(s).

One thing that some of you (or none) might find interesting.  There was a bracketed wheel of time trivia competition/tournament at Jordancon.  I was the grand champion.  So just letting you know, I'm representing the whole pagesofprophecy/pol/pop/druid/fff extended network of communities.  I think all the rest of the competition was from the mega sites and they all went down.  Although I got invites over two theoryland.com and tarvalon.net, which was pretty cool.

If anyone wants a report or info I can throw that up here too.  Got to hear an audio recording of RJ telling the first scene from the prologue.  I can put a summary up as well if anyone is interested in that.

November 3 can't come soon enough.

Good effort though, good laugh by the sound of it!

I'm going to go with....yes.  Bring on the movies!   Grin

I'll play Rand and rake in the cash!  hahahaha  I might need to workout a little bit to get into 'Rand' shape.  Just let me know and I'll join a gym.  *snicker*

Seriously though...I wouldn't say that ALL movies ruin their respective books.  Look at the Harry Potter movies.  They compliment the books nicely.  As well as the Twilight movies...(yes, I've read the Twilight books!).

If enough money goes into the production the resulting movie will be good.  Nevertheless...it'll never happen with WoT books.  Just the first book itself would have to be split into about 3 movies.

Still, though...I'd totally pay to watch 'em!

I'd like to see HBO or Showtime tackle the books in a series.   One book - two at the very most! - per season.  There would still probably be massive cuts from the written material but that format would stand a better chance of hitting the best parts than a movie would, I think.

I'm on this bus, Showtime has made Dexter a helluva lot better than the books were.

Since HBO is, by all accounts, taking on the GRRM books, then ShowTime should step up and produce WoT.  I'm just sayin'...
