Quick review
Watchmen: It's alright, but probably best if you have read the Graphic Novel, which I haven't. I didn't really need to see the big blue penis.
Walk Hard the Dewey Cox Story: Other then some of the music, and bits and pieces of the movie here and there it wasn't very good. I think John C. Riley was great in this role, I just didn't think much of the movie as a whole. Also did not need to see that roadies penis on the upper right side of the screen.
George W. Bush, Your Welcome America: Kind of a mixed bag, it probably went on to long. It has it's moments where it is really funny and others where it completely drags. Not really a movie but gotta keep with the theme, I didn't really want to see the penis picture Will Farrel put up.
Forgetting Sarah Marshall: A romantic comedy that isn't funny or romantic. Seemed more tragic than anything else, tragic in that the movie pretty up opens and closes with the male lead full monty.
So there it is.

I would ask "what the heck is the deal with artists and penises?" but then I look at my sister's classmates and they *all* are pretty much obsessed with phallic imagery.
Anyone seen Race to Witch Mountan yet? Me and the gf were thinking of seeing it. We both love The Rock and we also loved the 70s original.

Thanks to the job from hell, I didn't see
any
movies in a theater in 2009. Needless to say, I missed a lot.
Last night, I had the chance to see "Star Trek". Holy photon torpedos! Wow! I am soooooo sorry I missed seeing it on big screen because it damned near blew my socks off on a regular sized tv!
Awesome characterizations! Chris Pine deftly walked the line between bravery and comedy as Kirk. Karl Urban's McCoy was dead on. Zoe Saldana, John Cho, Simon Pegg and the young kid who played Chekov - loved 'em! And Zachary Quinto's Spock. My stars and garters... I was floored by his performance! To see the younger Spock, still not in control of the duality of his heritage. Then to see
both
Spocks! Gave me chills!
What a fantastic tribute to the series! The first glimpse of the Enterprise, Christopher Pike in his wheelchair, the doomed red shirt, the iconic sound of the doors to the turbo-shaft... The gems in the dialogue: "Damn it, man! I'm a doctor, not a physicist!" "Green blooded hobgoblin." "Bones!" "Fascinating!" "I'm giving her all she's got, Captain!"
And, of course, "live long and prosper."
In the final battle scene, when Spock in the Vulcan vessel loaded with red matter, is facing down the barrage of torpedos being fired by the Romulan ship, and the Enterprise came out of warp, all weapons blazing away... well, it's probably a good thing I didn't see it in the theater because I would have stood up and whooped and clapped and basically made a fool of myself!
My God, what a ride!! I can't wait for the next one!

The voices may not be real, but they have some pretty good ideas...

*l* Jacy's a trekkie.
Never woulda guessed it. Was a good movie though, I pretty much love anything with Simon Pegg, way underrated actor.
