Didn't Stephen King write a vampire book...Salem's Lot?

Vampire's showed up a bit in his Dark Tower series too.   I haven't read Salem's Lot...but I did read the Dark Tower series.

Have you guys read his work?  Does it stick to the 'lore' version of vampires or more of a contemporay version?

I'm not up on my Vampire info...so I'll have to rely on you guys.  But this entire thread has me thinking of the vampire from his Dark Tower series.

I've seen the mini-series for Salem's Lot and from what I remember the Vampire is more of the Bram Stoker's type of vampire.

The Night Flier is another Vampire story by Stephen King.
I could have been a contender.
