Does any one have an idea on how the bore will be sealed. This is a matter that I'm stumped on. Look forward to here what you think

Well, if the Dark One and the Forsaken are destroyed, would there be a need to seal the Bore?  On the other hand, if you go with the theory that the Dark One is like unto a god and cannot be destroyed, then back to the Pit he must go.

There was something that was Dreamed/Foretold about Rand smashing the seals.  Perhaps the old seals have to be destroyed before new ones can be made.  If they are to be made of cuendillar, that's something that Egwene and some others can do.  Or maybe Rand, linked with Nynaeve or Alivia (they are the two strongest, aren't they?), would have some other way of sealing the Bore.  In a way, it would be fitting if a combination of saidin and saidar was enough to seal it.  I don't think that there were any women among LTT's 100 Companions, so what was done before would have been just the cuendillar seals and saidin.

Interesting question... :)

I checked with my boy Billy Mays, and he says "Mighty Putty".

Well, it was mentioned in The Shadow Rising that Lanfear headed up the original bore project.  So, obviously she is pretty strong…and she kept mentioning that using those two giant statue sa’angreal together would allow enough power to oppose the creator himself.  (of course, I think those statue sa’angreal melted when Rand and Nyneave cleansed the taint…right???  I’m not positive about that.)

Regardless, my point is that Lanfear *knows* about the bore…how she created it and probably some ideas on how to plug it up.  If she’s not really dead…and if Rand and Co. can trick her into helping out…they might be able to come up with something decent.

I have a few thoughts about the bore.  For some reason…and I don’t know why…I relate the bore to Rands wound that won’t heal.  I don’t know what significance that holds or if it can be used in the end…but I got the feeling that those two are related somehow.

You know how Rand used the Taint and Mashidar to destroy each other?  Maybe it takes a bad thing to destroy another bad thing.  So, that leaves the question of what bad thing is bad enough to destroy the evilness of the bore?  Does the bore *have* to remain at shaol gull? Is it a physical thing…or can it be manipulated (with the right amount of power and encouragement)?  Can he take the bore itself and merge it with that nasty wound on his side?  Can he physically become the keeper of the bore…and when he dies the bore dies?

You know those dark threads that Rand has found links the Forsaken to the Dark One himself?  I wonder if those threads transfer power of some type?  Maybe Rand can get some “light threads” that link him to the Creator???

I think it would be neat if Rand found that he has access to some unlimited (or super vast) pool of the true source at some point during the final battle.  Maybe he finds that the earth itself is a gigantic sa’angreal…or something like that.  Maybe he finds he can dip into both sides of the power…and create some really freaky cool flows!?!  Or, taking on my previous scenario…become a sort of God himself and use this new found power to become a permanent buffer between the Dark One and the world….replacing the seals with an active shield of sorts.  Just like shielding a person able to channel…if you tie the shield off the person can break out eventually (ie: the seven seals)…but if the shield stays active it’s nearly impossible to break out of that, right? Hmmmmm???

*grin*  Ok, those are just my silly theories…

Chris, the sa'angreal didn't melt, she the female ter'angreal that linked Nynaeve to the Tremalking sa'angreal.

I always thought the Bore would be sealed by the huge sa'angreal, but with one of the links destroyed it likely won't be that. Unless of course Elayne suddenly figures out how to create a new link ter'angreal.

Not really sure now.
I could have been a contender.

I can see it now... new reality show.  "Duct Tape Wars", pitting the North against the South...

First challenge:  Who can rebuild a car with duct tape?  Hmmm... I think we'd win that one, hands down...  ;)

I was seriously never going to mention this...but...what the heck, it's funny.   For my 33rd b-day last month one of my neices made me a duct-tape wallet.   :)

On top of that...she said that she learned to make them in a "duct-tape" class she was taking...   :|

Apparently there are a lot of things a properly trained person can make with duct-tape!

...

I wish I were kidding...but it's true.

I've seen those duct tape wallets. There is a shop in the Tri-Cities where my mother lives that makes and sells them.

I'm 99.9% sure that there were no women among the 100 companions, hence the taint only on Sai'din.

As for the bore...

DO will probably die, no real point for the to be resealed, I think the foretelling of Rand smashing the cuendillar was more his insanity perhaps pushing him, or him getting ready for the fight.

I'm more interested in, what does the Bore look like? Is Shayol Ghul like Mt. Doom? I always kind of pictured it as a huge sphere kind of, don't know why.

Alas poor Lanfear. She knew the most about the bore as she helped create it. It was her fault and if only Rand could of seen to use her knoweldge of it to his benefit. If only he could of gotten her to abandon the shadow. Though with me I might of just given over to that beauty. Its too bad about what happened to the great and beautiful Lanfear.
Seek not glory nor fame for only those with a desperate need shall triumph over the shadow.

If you remember from the guide it says that Lews Therin's opposition, what's her name, got all the female Aes Sedai of sufficient power to swear to not aid Lews Therin in his plan. Her plan was to use the two huge sa'angreal, that were still under construction, to seal the bore. So when the huge sar'angreal were lost and when their forces were unable to recover them Lews Therin took the 100 Companions to Shayol Ghul and sealed the bore without the female Aes Sedai.

I think if any female had been there and taken part there probably wouldn't be an Aes Sedai in Randland and the world probably would have been destroyed and not just broken. It was the female Aes Sedai and perhaps the few still sane, but going insane, males that held the world together. If both sides would have been tainted that would have doubled the destruction and it would be unlikely anybody would have survived that.
I could have been a contender.

*g* I've always meant to pick up the guide, but only place I can find it is Amazon.

But yeah, I was pretty positive no women were there. But like I was saying, the Bore and even the Blight in general I've always had trouble picturing in my mind.

I have no problem with the Blight, it is corruption. Diseased and evil. The only person who could cleanse that corruption was the Greenman, to bad all the Nym are dead now.

As for the Bore, I don't think we're supposed to be able to imagine it. The Bore isn't a physical manifestation, it is a thinning of something invisible to us. The Bore is everywhere, yet seems to be centered on Shayol Ghul.
