Who will die, who will live

Well, Tuon is the Daughter of the Nine Moons, so through Mat he has bound her to him in a sense. How much more he may do so is yet to be revealed.

As for Elaida's first foretelling, you have to remember that Rand's mother was Tigraine, who was Daughter Heir before she disappeared into the Waste. So Rand holds the Royal Blood of Andor within him. The foretelling has very little to do with Elayne, or at the very least it has a whole lot more to do with Rand. I don't think Elayne can die, I think he needs her to win, same with Min and Aviendha.
I could have been a contender.

>> an what about the other two from two rivers, Mat and  Perin. Doesnt Rand need the two of them on his side to win his battle with the Dark One.

i believe that all the main characters will live, mainly because of min's viewings. i also believe most of the sub characters will like aram and oliver etc mainly because their not important. i'd like to know ur views on which cities u think get destroyed?

I'm pretty sure that Aram is dead - killed during the raid on the Shaido to save Faile.  But I think Olver is safe.

The idea of cities being destroyed... hmmm, I hadn't really considered that possibility.  For some reason, Tear comes to mind.  Don't know why, though...
The voices may not be real, but they have some pretty good ideas...

I've had to bring up a couple more points since my re-read is finished.

With the whole Seanchan prophecy, it's pretty convoluted.

Because Rand heard from the Aelfinn that he must have the North and East united, and the South and West united to win the Last Battle. And the Seanchan have a version of the Karaethon Cycle where the Dragon Reborn must kneel before the Crystal Throne. That could be metaphorical as the Empress, and with her having been assassinated by Semirhage (Or indirectly at least as she insinuated to Suroth), that makes Tuon empress, so perhaps that could be a binding of her marriage through Mat, or him giving them the lands of the South and West.

And another one that bugged me, and this may be a *little* off-topic, but I come back to Taim again.

I think perhaps there will be a rift in the Black Tower when the last battle comes, and I have even more reason to believe Taim is a darkfriend.

At the end of Knife of Dreams, in the Epilogue its a point of view from the red sister (Perava?) and she and a group of reds are meeting Taim to discuss the bonding of Asha'man. One of the last lines in the book is: "Let the lord of chaos rule." which is said, by Taim.

Now, the only time I have ever heard that line (or recall hearing it) is from the Forsaken or them telling it to darkfriends specifically.

I think that about cements him being a darkfriend, because he says: "Remember the old saying, let the lord of chaos rule." And Pevara thinks that she had never heard a saying like that.

I think Taim must be a darkfriend, and in the rift of the Black Tower, Logain kills him and assumes command of the Asha'man, which will be what his crown signifies in Min's viewing.
I believe the world is burning to the ground.

I just finished re-reading and the only person I can tell for sure that is going to die is Taim, and Brigitte since Brigitte has to be reborn and was ripped out of the cycle by Elyane and Taim is a Darkfriend and will mos likely be killed by Logan since rand has almost no interest in ever going to the black tower and realy wants nothing to do with the place. other then that i see all the main charactors living including Rand although he will have to die first.

While yes I see this as the plan to use the male adam on Rand. I dont think the DOTNM will be the one holding the leash but will be Egewne and Nynaeve. since Moraine told him they are the only 2 he can trust.

I think it would be kind of neat for DOTNM to try and bind Rand (which I'm sure is a plan to the Seanchan), and it backfire, giving Rand power over her somehow.

To me, Taim, has been a darkfriend (if not Damondred himself) since the Far Mading episode.  (I don't remember what book that was...CoT maybe?)  Anyway, while in a POV of one of the rebel asha'men, the guy recalls Taim telling him to kill Rand.  And also, a bit later, when Rand confronts Padan Fain...Padan recalls spirits of two of the rebel Asha'men and the two are having a conversation about Taim telling them to kill Rand.

So, there ya go...that's my evidence.  I personally think Taim is Damondred in disguise.  But, at the very least, he's a darkfriend.  And he's due for a thorough but kicking!

Elayne didn't rip her out of the pattern, Mogedein (sp?) did. Elayne saved Birgitte's life by bonding her as a warder. It is possible that Birgitte dies, since we know Gaidal Cain is already born and he is usually quite a bit older then her. Good catch.
I could have been a contender.
