And buy a decommissioned missile  base

It's only 1.5 million. And right by where Todd lives. *l*

lol That isn't very far away from me. We only need $100,000 down and $10,000 for escrow. No problem! ;)

We can go there and start or own cult!
I could have been a contender.

Haven't we already discussed this before? I believe a commune was planned at one stage. Somewhere nice out in the country side where we can grow our own vegetables and raise chickens.

Who said we should live with no power and in shanties? Plus, I think it will be alright if people bring their significant other. :)

Oh god... I couldn't live without technology. There needs to be hot and cold running water and toilets that flush too.

On more than one occasions I have been in a situation where I had to dig my own hole. It made me appreciate flushing toilets. :P

I'm in complete agreement with Rhy on this one.  Functioning plumbing is an absolute necessity.

And what we had talked about before was some little town in Kansas, I think.  Weren't they, like, paying people to move there or something?  Or giving away land?  Something like that...
The voices may not be real, but they have some pretty good ideas...

Well, yes.... I'm not sure if I'd permanently like to live with holes instead of toilets, either. I can do without flowing warm water, though.. did I mention my appartment is quite old? If you need warm or hot water, you've got to boil it first. *g*

Besides, let's see who would join... maybe there's a good technician/engineer amongst us?

Yes, they were offering monetary bonuses to new residents...it was some tiny little place in the northwest, I think, can't remember the name (which, I suppose, shows my obvious bias).

I'm from Kansas, and I wouldn't want to live in any little town here! Gah.

Well, I think it would be fun to rent or buy a community something where we'd all end up together. *l*
Besides, I haven't been around when the community farm was discussed earlier. Sometimes I still miss what I missed... sounds weird, doesn´t it? *g*
So I jumped the train of thought this time, instead.

You know, that doesn't make a person want to visit you in Germany. lol No hot water? Ouch!

I think if we have another gathering it should be built around the idea that we will pool or money together and rent a cabin somewhere. Perhaps on a lake, and spend the week or two swimming, fishing and whatever else that comes to mind.
I could have been a contender.

Wimp. *l*
I didn't say there's absolutely no hot water, I just said I need to boil it first. Which means, I do have a boiler for the shower with enough capacity for one. Got to pre-plan since it takes a while until the water is hot, but that's the only downside, and I can live with it. *g*
It might take quite a while until everybody is ready if I'd host a couple of people though, that's true.
